Heading up the coast from LA to San Francisco
We took our time driving up Highway 1, stopping to explore the coast. Our first day, we found Oceano Dunes with less than an hour of sunlight left. We had our first sighting of Brown Pelicans here!
Ellie was told that since it was late and cold, she could only get wet up to her knees...
...and look at her go! The draw to go further in was just too much. ;)
The next day, we found the Elephant Seal Rookery, which Builda will be telling you more about soon... ;) We couldn't help but laugh as we watched these mammoth beasts... wait till you see the videos Builda will share!
Look at their faces while they watch the seals! :)
Nature is very entertaining sometimes.
A little further north, Brie spotted whale spouts!
A recurring theme in our trip is that some of us could just look for a good long time,
and others of us are done much earlier than the aforementioned some of us.
Some of us want to "watch the video", and some are done after they've "seen the photo."
Good character building for all, as we are presented with opportunity after opportunity
to have patience OR to not require too much patience.
Hmmm... looks like one of us is struggling with that character building... ;)
The history of the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park was fascinating.
Can you imagine having a home with this view!?
(McWay Falls)
I love this picture! :)
Point Lobos sounded amazing, so we decided to make a day of just that...
followed by a much-anticipated afternoon at Carmel-By-The-Sea!
...coming soon!
Now here is the question...who are the photo people and who are the video people? Hmmmm..... Praying that God will continue sharpening all your irons (proverbial iron, mind you) as you give way to each other in the little things!!!
ReplyDeletePS I don't think I'm ever going to read any of these without commenting. Just so you know. It is like we are having a conversation this way. :-) A slow and stilted conversation, but a good one.
Especially slow on my part... ;) I treasure all conversation with you, my friend. I'll take it however I can get it. Thanks for your encouraging words and for your prayers! ...Jen
DeleteAs for who are the photo people and who are the video people... I'm finding that it changes a bit depending on where we are and who is most interested in our particular activity of the moment. Tim is always a video person. He lives in the moment. Always. Sometimes that's annoying, but most often it's inspiring. ;) Jadan is usually content with the photo, then ready to move on... unless you're talking about making jelly beans, panning for gems, or building something cool in Minecraft... ;) We girls usually tend toward the video, but we have our limits...
