Savannah, GA
End of February
Most of our time in Savannah was spent in the hotel room recovering from the flu.😷
We did eventually get out and about enough to enjoy a taste of the South.
It's amazing how the trees characterize a place.
In Savannah, we weren't sure what was wrong with the trees
until our "tour guide" Allie told us we were seeing Spanish moss.

From www.visitsavannah.com :
Savannah is known as America's first planned city.
Oglethorpe laid the city out in a series of grids that allowed for wide open streets intertwined with
shady public squares and parks that served as town meeting places and centers of business.
Savannah had 24 original squares; 22 squares are still in existence today.
It was awesome to see the squares!
Savannah is rich with history...a southern history we aren't as familiar with.
In 1870, Robert E. Lee had a prescription filled here at Solomon Drug Store.
The drug store is now a lovely tea room that has preserved its history beautifully.
Of course, Tim's favorite place to visit was the Pirate's House.
This place inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write Treasure Island!
The story goes that people who got drunk & passed out would be taken through underground tunnels and sold to the pirate ships docked there. They'd wake up at sea as involuntary pirate crew members!
Well, Savannah, we're pretty sure that we just scratched the surface of the treasures you hold.
Hope to see you again sometime.
